Our April 12th speaker, Juan Reanda from Guatemala, spoke about the "Off the Grid Digital Classroom" known as RACHEL--Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education & Learning.   Using a raspberry pi server, it is considered the most innovative technology solution for delivering free educational resources to developing communities.  Club member, Jim Britt, introduced Juan and announced that he plans to move to Guatemala in May to continue his efforts, now full-time, in the Lake Atitlán region in the Guatemalan Highlands of the Sierra Madre mountain range, where he has spent the last six Summer's as a volunteer.
